It’s a traditional Indian pancake made with gram flour (besan) and grated potatoes (aloo), spiced perfectly to wake up your taste buds.
No fancy ingredients — just everyday kitchen staples that turn into a golden, flavorful, and protein-rich breakfast in minutes.

Ingredients:
2 cup besan (gram flour)
2 medium potato (grated)
1 small onion (finely chopped)
1 green chili (finely chopped)
2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves (chopped)
¼ tsp turmeric powder
½ tsp red chili powder
Salt – as per taste
Water – as required (to make batter)
1–2 tbsp oil or ghee (for cooking)
1. Prepare the batter:
In a mixing bowl, add besan, grated potato, onion, chili, coriander, and all the spices.
Add a little water gradually to make a smooth, pourable batter (like pancake consistency).
2. Heat the pan:
Place a non-stick tawa or iron skillet on medium flame. Grease it lightly with oil.
3. Cook the chilla:
Pour a ladle of batter onto the pan and spread it gently into a circle.

4. Flip and cook:
Once the bottom turns golden brown, flip it carefully and cook the other side.
Press lightly so it cooks evenly and becomes crisp.
5. Serve hot:
Take it off the tawa and serve it hot with green chutney, curd, or tomato ketchup.

Pair with mint chutney or spiced curd (raita).
