Desi Chicken Roll recipe

🕒 Ready in 25 Minutes

Serves: 2

Level: Easy

Ingredients

For the Chicken Filling:

300g boneless chicken (cut into small pieces)

2 tbsp oil or butter

2 tsp ginger-garlic paste

½ tsp red chili powder

½ tsp turmeric

½ tsp cumin powder

2 tsp garam masala

2 tbsp lemon juice

Salt to taste

For the Roll:

3 parathas or chapatis

½ cup sliced onions

3 tbsp green chutney or mayonnaise

2 tbsp tomato ketchup

Fresh coriander leaves

Step 1: Cook the Chicken

Heat oil in a pan. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté until fragrant. Add chicken pieces and cook on high flame for 2–3 minutes. Now add all the spices — red chili, turmeric, cumin, garam masala, salt, and lemon juice. Mix well, cover, and cook for another 8–10 minutes until the chicken becomes tender and juicy.

Step 2: Prepare the Wrap Base

Warm your parathas or chapatis on a tawa with a few drops of ghee for extra flavor. Make sure they stay soft and not too crispy.

Step 3: Assemble the Roll

Place the paratha on a flat surface. Spread green chutney or mayo, add the cooked chicken filling, top it with sliced onions and coriander leaves, and drizzle some tomato ketchup for a tangy touch. Roll it tightly in foil or butter paper.

Step 4: Serve & Enjoy!

Your Desi Chicken Roll is ready! Serve it hot with mint chutney or spiced yogurt.

💡 Pro Tips

Add a few drops of vinegar to the onions for an extra zing.

If you love spice, toss in a pinch of crushed black pepper or green chili.

For a smoky flavor, briefly flame-roast the chicken pieces before assembling.
